Is Organic Food Better?

Evidence is mounting that organic food is better for you, safer, and tastier, although there's currently no definitive research that shows organic food is more nutritious than conventionally grown produce. It's a fact, though, that chemical residue from pesticides and chemicals sprayed on or around fruit and vegetable produce can collect on the produce and be ingested when you eat them.

Since I want my food to be as natural and whole as possible when I eat it, I prefer organically produced real foods. I am also keeping an eye on the research about organically grown and raised foods and will continue to share those links here.

    This article looks at a new review from France which has concluded that there are nutritional benefits to organic produce, based on data compiled for the French food agency AFSSA, opposing a previously published UK study which did not find any nutritional benefit to organically produced food.

    This article looks at published information that shows that organic food is substantially healthier than conventional food. Research published in a 2001 study showed that the current fruit and vegetables in the United States have about half the vitamin content of their counterparts in 1963.
